USB-Serial
The following provide a serial standard interface from USB. The devices use the FTDI Chip and so present themselves as COM ports. The signals are then translated to serial either 5V or 3.3V. All of the devices have on board power regulators to protect the USB from short circuits.

This has a 5V AND 3.3V on board power regulator to provide power (up to 100mA) for external circuits. The regulator will protect the USB host from short circuits. COM drivers are available for PC, Linux and MAC. The signals can either be 5V or 3.3V selectable by a jumper. 5V and 3.3V are provided to external circuits regardless of the jumper setting.
