Nickel-Chrome or resistance wire can be used as a heating
element or to cut polystyrene or foam. A low voltage supply is
required to heat the wire for example a car battery or mains
adapter. The wire is quite fine (32 SWG) which is 0.274mm Dia.
This gives a resistance of approximately 1 ohm for every 30mm or
about 33 ohms per meter. A length of about 13 cm is ideal for
between 9 and 12V. This wire is very strong for its relative
thinness. The pack is for 1m length. |
